This summer, Young Pilots USA will be hosting its first ever annual fly-in event! Located at Goodspeed Airport (42B) in East Haddam, CT, it'll be a weekend full of flying fun right on the Connecticut River. Pilots and the general public are equally welcome at this great weekend of aviation!
About the Airport
A privately-owned, public-use airport, Goodspeed is the perfect location to host this event. Featuring a 2,100' asphalt runway and 4,500' water runway, it's shaping up to become a haven for the aviation community under new ownership by friends of our organization– which is exactly why Young Pilots USA picked it for our first major event. Pilots flying in should refer to the VFR sectional and chart supplement to learn more, and contact Young Pilots USA for further questions. As the event approaches, we will release more information specific to pilots flying in.
Attendees will be treated to lots of flying and community, with aircraft on display, camping, guest speaker seminars, lots of food, bonfires, and more. The weekend-long fly-in will also feature STOL, spot landing, and flour bombing competitions. Please RSVP at right! We are currently considering various restrictions as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but please expect vaccination cards to be mandatory for attendees over 16 as a bare minimum.
Admission & Rates
Young Pilots USA members, active duty military, and veterans are all entitled to discounted admission to all parts of the Goodspeed Fly-In. Pricing structure, aircraft parking and camping space arrangements are being made, so please stay tuned for more information on rates and details.
