One of the earliest members of Young Pilots USA, Ethan C. Hand is Vice President of the Young Pilots USA Executive Board and the President of Chapter 1 in Oxford, CT. He is also Director of Chapters since September 2022, in which capacity he handles all Member and Chapter affairs.
Originally from Middlebury, CT, Ethan first got involved in aviation through his father, a former professional airshow pilot who now manages an area charter business and learned to fly as a teenager.
Ethan is a member of the Connecticut chapter of the Soaring Society of America, and is a junior at Pomperaug Regional High School in Middlebury, CT. Outside of flying, he enjoys skiing, driving and flying RC cars and airplanes, hiking, and mountain biking.
As a pilot, Ethan holds a Student Pilot License and is qualified as PIC to fly the Schweizer SGS 2-33A, Schweizer SGS 1-26E, Cessna 150, and Bellanca Scout, and is working towards his Private Pilot's License. He has more than 50 hours of total time and has flown various types.
Ethan lives in Middlebury, CT with his parents and sister Ava.
