Young Pilots USA Launches Eighth Chapter in Upstate NY
Young Pilots USA is proud to announce that Matthew R. Brooder, a 16 year-old high school student from Lancaster, NY, will be starting a new chapter of Young Pilots USA, continuing to broaden our network of young aviators.
The chapter, given Chapter No. 8, will be Young Pilots USA's eighth chapter overall and seventh active chapter, along with its first in New York. This makes a total of 6 states that Young Pilots USA now has chapters in! Headquartered at Akron Airport (9G3) in Akron, NY, the chapter will continue in the vein of other Young Pilots USA chapters in its work for young pilots and their goals in aviation.
The chapter's founder and President, Matthew Brooder, is a student pilot who has flown gliders and powered aircraft in his aviation journey, working in a local grocery store along the way to pay for flying lessons. Mr. Brooder says that he "fell in love with the romance of general aviation," initially at airshows, and has been hooked ever since.
Young Pilots USA is America’s only nationwide members’ association of young aviators that’s actually run by young people, with an annual fly-in, guest speaker series, a great aviation community, and chapters in 6 states and growing!
